Silver Spring, MD; May 21, 2008 —Acorn Media announces the July 15, 2008 DVD debut of Robbie Coltrane: Incredible Britain, a one-of-a-kind travelogue available to U.S. audiences for the first time with Scottish actor and comedian Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, Cracker, Ocean’s Twelve). Taking the scenic back roads from London to Glasgow in a vintage Jaguar convertible, Coltrane stops along the way to meet the locals and partake in some comically bizarre British customs. With his good-natured charm and delightful eccentricities, Coltrane makes for reality programming at its most genial, warmhearted, and amusing.

Just how bonkers are the Brits, anyway? Coltrane finds out as he takes to his country’s scenic back roads on a quest for the quintessentially eccentric. Along the way, he meets the most unusual folks imaginable: a modern-day teenage wing-walker, a cleric who ministers to motorcyclists, a man who pops wheelies on a 20-ton monster fire truck, a mayor who must submit to an annual weigh-in, and more. He also witnesses a massive rugby match played with a beer keg, a scarecrow convention, and even an explosion or two. Sometimes Robbie joins the fun—for instance, when he enters the world’s only dock pudding cooking contest. (Of course, he cheats.)

So climb into the passenger’s seat of Coltrane’s classic Jaguar roadster, relax, and experience a Britain that you’ll never see on the traditional tourist tracks.

The three-episode series aired in the U.K. on ITV as “Robbie Coltrane: B-Road Britain” in August 2007 but has not aired in the U.S.
